Desktop display looks like there are two desktops
displayed at the same time. One overlays the other, How do
I clear the second desktop?

Have you checked your display settings to make sure you're running at a
refresh rate/resolution supported by your video card/monitor? Tried another
monitor?

Check the hardware manufacturer's web site for the latest Windows 2000
driver for your graphics adapter and or try another monitor.
