Hi

I setup a background picture for my desktop. It was sourced from the server.
I deleted the pictures on the server by mistake but I am still able to view
the background on my computer. My guess is it is using a temp file it saved
somewhere.

I would like to save the file. Can anyone tell me where is the picture file?

Many thanks is advance
RIchard

Take your chance with this as I really cannot remember if it was for
XP or an earlier OS

The places wallpaper can be used.
(C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper may be the best)

BMP Files from C:\WINDOWS
BMP, JPG, GIF, JPE, DIB, PNG, HTM files from the following locations:
C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Pictures
(+subfolders)
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes (+subfolders)

Open this registry key...

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop]

....and note the path to the picture file in these values:

OriginalWallpaper
