Greetings, all. I'd be grateful if anyone can shed light on this, please:
Windows 2000 Professional, IE upgraded from V5 to V6(SP1).
Now when I login, my desktop is not restored to the state it was when I logged
out. It used to preserve Windows Explorer - position, size and current
folder; and the layout and location of a number of open folders from my
'Desktop' folder. The state does seem to be stored somewhere because I can
manually restore the folders by going via the 'Desktop' toolbar on the task bar
and right clicking on the relevant folder and selecting 'Open'. I've tried all I
can think of - shortcuts on the desktop, in the Office toolbar, and even a new
toolbar on the task Bar, but nothing restores the appearance and location. It
all used to reappear automatically when I logged in!!!
I've spent a good while scratching the MS knowledge base and searched the
registry for likely values, but turned up nothing. Any ideas what's happened and
how to restore the behaviour, please?
Chris Prowting,.
