Desktop Items Won't Show

A few months back, I selected the "Hide Desktop Icons" option (and possibly
locked it) so I could use the Desktop Toolbar by the Start Menu. To show
them, I'm supposed to do the same thing: right click on desktop, go to
arrange icons, and select show desktop items, however that option doesn't
show up and I'm stuck having no desktop. Is there a reason why it won't show
up for me? Any help is appreciated.

This may help:
"Show Desktop icons" and other options missing in the Desktop right-click
menu ?

Well, I'm not too sure on the wording of my instructions as they would
normally show. But I'm not able to find any of those setting options. This is
what shows up:

This support topic here:

is exactly what I did before to hide them.

Rey Santos, thanks for the link. I was a little iffy on messing with the
registry, but it worked exactly as it said. Thanks!
