Desktop Icons Won't Display and I get a Blue Screen When Rebooting

Hello All,

When I turn on my computer, a screen with a blue background and white text
flashes and then I am directed to the "F8 screen." If I choose to "Start
Windows Manually" or access the "Last Known Good Configuration," the blue
screen flashes and I return to the "F8 screen." I cannot read what the blue
screen says because it only appears for approximately 0.5 seconds. The only
way that my computer starts is through "Safe Mode." When I run safe mode, a
black screen appears when I log in with no icons or the start menu. I am able
to access the "Windows Task Manager."

This happened after I downloaded software online, so it is possible that I
have some sort of virus.

All solutions to my problems will be greatly appreciated. If more
information is needed, I will do my best to provide it.
