Recently I was attempting to download the Real media
freeware to listen to some audio files. I am not sure,
whether during that process, I have lost a Windows Desktop
icon that typically comes right next to teh Start Icon on
bottom left corner. I use Windows 2000. Question is how
to restore that. I use it a lot especially when there are
several programs open on the screen and you need to
minimize all of them at once.

Create a file named "Show Desktop.scf" in
\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Quick Launch
paste this text in the file and save it.

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
