When I create a new desktop icon, the textbox only shows me 1 letter at a
time as I type. When I finish typing and click out of the textbox, then I
can see the entire name. How do I fix this?

Hi Elmo. I reset the "adjust for best performance" as in your second link
and it corrected the issue. Thanks much!
