Greetings,

How do I change the colour of the icon font on the desktop? The current
white is just too diffivult to see on a weak older back-lighted lcd.

Properties | Appearance | Item | Icon - allows a choice of font, size, bold
and italic, but the colour pull-down is greyed-out. I'd like the font under
the icons on the desktop to be black while preserving all other current
characteristics such as background colour.

Changing the background colour to black or a darker colour makes the white
fonts much more visible, but I find the tone to be too somber for my tastes.
Changing the font colour is all I desire, but can't find out how to do it
without your help.

Thank you.

Put on a light background and Windows will automatically switch the font
to black.

Thank you, but I wish to choose the color of the icon font, not have Windows
2000 make the choice for me.

Is there a Registry key that can be altered manually please, since it looks
like there's no GUI selector available?

None that I'm aware of, only the automatic business.
