Hi everyone. I have a user - an admin assistant - who needs to open her
boss' mailbox. It's all set up and working fine for her, but she has a new
request: She would like to be able to open his mailbox via a shortcut on
her desktop. I imagine that if this is possible, that it would be
accomplished with some switch appended to the shortcut target ("C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" /something). I searched the
web and can't find out how to do it, but she claims the IT guys at her last
employer did this for her, so I have been lead to believe it is possible.

Thanks!

Perhaps she used OWA to access the other mailbox?

First add the mailbox to the users mail profile as per;
http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/permissions.htm

Then you create a shortcut;
outlook:\\mailboxname\foldername

You can easily retrieve the shortcut to create when you enable the Web
toolbar in Outlook.
