Desktop Background Properties-double entry

On a system Xp Pro X64 (new on Oct 12/08)
Classic view (not active desktop)
If I create a background wallpaper for the 1680 x 1050 monitor there will be
two listings in the properties tab for choices of pictures whether it is jpg
or bmp.
In reality, there is now one image in the folder referenced for the
backgrounds and a search across the drive finds no other but two titles are
in the list.
I have edited the HKLM section in the registry to reference a subfolder of
My Pictures to be the source for background images.

Is there a workaround for this double listing?
Rose
