Hello, Hope someone can help? A Few questions...
1. Is 'My Picture Show' in the screensaver menu an installed/standard
feature of XP?
2. Is 'MSN Photo Show' in the screensaver menu an installed/standard feature
of XP?

For some reason every photo in my 'My Pictures' folder is populating the
'Desktop Backround' drop down menu. I have just noticed this recently and it
is a pain. List a mile long. What is causing this and how can I stop it? If I
remove all photos from the folder the information leaves the list. As soon as
I return the photos to the folder it returns?

I downloaded MSN Live ScreenSaver and it turned my desktop into a slide show
from the photos stored on my computer in 'My Pictures'. I didn't want that so
I unloaded the screensaver from add/remove and have had this problem or just
noticed it when I went to change my desktop.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter...

Melody Braley

My Pictures Slideshow is a default XP choice.

MSN Photo Show is not a default XP choice.

[[When you install MSN Premium, you get a new screen saver added to the list
in Windows called MSN Photo Show.]]

Where do the image files come from? [the background images listing]

Hi. I'm having the same problem. All the photos in My Pictures end up as
options for Desktop Background in the Display Properties box. I've been
trying to find a way to remove these photos from the desktop background
options without having to delete them for good from My Pictures. No luck.
I've read several messages posted here, and most point to
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/background.htm as a solution. I've gone there, but
I don't understand half of it -- the names, symbols, the instructions -- it's
written in a language for people with more IT skills.

Can anyone tell me, in simple terms, how to disable whatever it is that is
enabling my pictures to end up in the desktop background list? I do not want
to delete the photos from my pictures, I just want to have the option of
deciding which ones may be used for desktop background and/or be able to stop
all of them from showing in the list.

Thanks!
