When shutting down computer my desktop background (standard MS Azul that came
with the computer), which I had set as my preferred background two years ago,
turned into the “Internet Explorer Wallpaper” background (also standard MS
desktop background option). Since the Internet Explorer Wallpaper looked
weird to me, I thought that I got a computer virus. When I turned computer on
again the Internet Explorer Wallpaper was still there. The Azul was gone!
I ran Norton Virus scan and it did not find anything out of ordinary. Then,
when I started to explore desktop properties, I discovered that the weird
looking background picture was a standard MS Internet Explorer Wallpaper
background. However, when I wanted to switch back to my Azul picture, its
Azul folder was there, but it was empty. Much to my surprise, I discovered
that many other standard MS background folders were empty – displaying
nothing when I opened them.
I called Dell technical support and was told that, most likely, it was a
glitch of the Windows XP operating system and I should not worry about it. It
was suggested to me that if I want my Azul back I should download it from the
MS website. In the meantime I applied another standard MS background called
the “Bliss”.
When I tried to send E-mail to MS technical support as the Dell people
suggested, my Windows product number was rejected although I was the original
buyer/owner (assholes!)
Can somebody explain to my what happened?
How do I download from the MS website just Desktop background images?
Thank you.
