Desktop and Hide protected OS Files

I know how to set folder options.

I like seeing all the files on my system, when I am browsing folders.

I know that I have purposely unchecked (via Folder Options, View) "Hide
protected operating system files".

But, do two "desktop.ini" files have to be shown on the desktop?

Suggestion: Give me an option, via the Folder Options or on the Start Menu
(customize), that will allow me to say "do not display desktop.ini files on
the desktop".

I deleted mine. They haven't reappeared and my desktop seems to have the
same functionality without them.

I would guess that the suggestion flag and voting buttons were difficult to
see.

To put it simply, the Desktop.ini file in Vista being shown is just Vista's
way of doing it, although its considered flawed.

To put it very simply, this was a suggestion for Microsoft (see the little
flag), and people only need to vote on it (see the voting buttons), not
provide links or explanations.
