Upon startup, my Presario S3100NX allows a very large,
slow Norton antivirus popup ad.

What do I eed to do to eliminate the popup?

if you have anything but windows 2000 type run "msconfig" in the start menu
click run and type > msconfig.

click startup icon and find the command line and uncheck.

reboot
