My daughter accidentally rotated her screen 90 degrees. How does one restore
the desk top to its original display?

Press Ctrl/Alt-Up Cursor. Also try Ctrl/Shift-R.

It can also be rotated in the Display Properties, and you can turn off
the shortcut keys there too.

Chuck Le Mieux,

Try right click on the desk top graphic opions rotation and tick normal
Or you will have to go into your graphics opions in control panel>
display>settings>advance.
Let me know how you go.
Regards

The ability to rotate the screen image is a feature of your video
card, to help it work with monitors that rotate to portrait
orientation. You accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt, and some arrow key.
Rotate it back using those keys.
