I'm running win XP sp2. When I want to move an icon, it snaps back to the
old place. In Arrange icons by: I have Align to Grid and Show desk top icons
both checked. If I check Auto Arrange, the desk top goes into a negative
view and the computer is taken over almost 100% by the desktop.

As far as I know, I have not messed with Registery. I installed a new
version of Ad-Aware and this has started to happen.

Any suggestions would be accepted.

Hi JoeZy,
When you say "snap back" mine snap back, it's what they're
supposed to do when you have "Align to grid" checked, no? I assume your
problem is more than just icons that snap-to-grid.

Uninstall Ad-Aware and do a system restore to just before you installed Ad-Aware

I did a restore to 3 days previous and it seems to be working normally. I
can move the icons anywhere I place them on the desk top.

Thanks for your interest. JoeZy

My question though, Is there anything else I need to do after System
Restore? and the second question: Is there something about the Ad-Aware? I
have used an old version for years with no problems.

Thanks for your inpur, JoeZy
