I am having trouble with my Desk Jet 840 C and Desk Jet
720C printers. I feel the heads need to be cleaned,
however, I have not been able to locate direction on how
to preform this task.

Yesterday, both printers were working fine, today they
both are printing very poorly. Light and half lines. I am
sure they just need to be cleaned.

If you could give me directions on how to do this, I would
greatly appreciate it.

It could also mean that you need new cartridges.

To clean the print heads, run the utility that came with
the printer. You should be able to find it on the printer's
Settings page, under the Advanced tab. But there are
annoying differences in how mfrs arrange these menus, so
read the Help first. Search for Cleaning and/or Aligning.
