Is there a way to remove a Design Template well after
applying it? That is, if a apply one, make changes,
close the program, whatever, it is too late to use Undo.
How do I remove the template if I decide I don't want one
at all? "None" does not seem to be an option.

PPT 2002 (XP) seems to have a "blank" template on the
list, so this issue seems to apply only to earlier
versions.

Thanks!

All presentations have a template, even if it's only the blank template.
All versions of PowerPoint have a blank template. Prior to PowerPoint 2002
you won't see the blank.pot listed. However, you can create your own
version of the blank template and save it so that you will see it.

1. Go to File > New and select Blank Presentation.
2. Go to View > Master > Slide Master.
3. Make any changes that you want, such as default font, etc.
4. Go to File > Save as and select Design Template(*.POT) as the file type.
Give it a name such as My Blank.pot or Blank.pot and click Save.
5. Now open the presentation you want to change.
6. Go to Format > Apply Design Template and select your new blank template
(My Blank.pot or Blank.pot ).
