hi yeah,
will any one can get me some information about my query.

Introduction

Design and document a campus network that meets the requirements of a
company. You are expected to provide justification(s) for your
decision(s). The justification(s) will provide an explanation for the
options considered and the reason(s) behind choosing the selected
option(s).

Background

GraphicsWork is a graphical company producing graphics and animation
for the entertainment industry. The company is located in Windsor. It
consists of one building accommodating approximately 200 people. It
is networked and has 256Kbps Internet connection.

The firm is growing quickly and has recently acquired another company
in Slough. The new company has ten buildings in an industrial estate
area of Slough.
Different buildings and number of floors in each building are listed
below. No floor has more than 30 hosts.

Building Number of Floors
Building 1 4
Building 2 3
Building 3 3
Building 4 2
Building 5 4
Building 6 3
Building 7 4
Building 8 3
Building 9 3
Building 10 3
(Slough Campus)

General applications used are:
• Oracle database
• Microsoft Office applications
• File and print services
• E-mail
• WWW and HTTP
• Graphic packages

Graphicswork would like to network the Slough campus in an effort to
reduce cost and improve operational efficiency and network
management. The next phase of network implementation is to
interconnect the Windsor and Slough sites in an effort to share
resources, to allow easy communication between designers and artists
to increase creativity and productivity. The Design/Production
departments at the Windsor and Slough sites would like to be able to
transfer graphic files from one campus to another.

The Windsor site will provide Internet and e-mail access for both
sites.
The company wants to use Internet to gain clients and find new
opportunities. The company has already developed and tested its new
web server in preparation for the Internet access.

Requirements
• Design a campus network for Slough site with a networking
technology that is :
o Scalable to support future applications and expansions
o Reliable and fault-tolerant
o Easy to manage and has a response time of approximately 1/10th of a
second or less
o Cost-effective

• Use IP address: 172.10.2.0/21 to design and implement an efficient
hierarchical IP addressing scheme that can be summarised for the
campus network.

• Implement an appropriate IP routing protocol for the co-operative
network.

• Research latest/recent developments in WAN technologies and prepare
a technical report for the management. Recommend and document an
appropriate technology to interconnect the Windsor and Slough sites.

Hello (E-Mail Removed),

If you would be so lazy, even for thinking about splitting your scenario
in some detailed questions instead of posting the complete one, then.........

:-):-):-) Just a bit of thinking and nobody here would realize that you try
to let others do your work :-):-):-)

Best regards

It is rare that I ever see a WAN [*truely*] "improve operational efficiency
and network
management". The "management" of it will become more complex and WAN links
are *slow* which can mean less effiecient,...not more efficient.

The rest of the requirements listed I would be amazed at anyone who could
actually measure those accuartely and objectively.

o Scalable to support future applications and expansions

Usually a no-brainer

o Reliable and fault-tolerant

Reliable, OK,....but fault-tolerant,...usually impossible

o Easy to manage and has a response time of approximately 1/10th of a
second or less

I'd love to see somone,...
first,...define it
second,...actually measure it

o Cost-effective

It will always cost more than they are doing now
It will always cost more later
...that much can be measured

"Cost effective" is one of those "fuzzy things" that I would be amazed
at anyone who could
actually measure it.
