When I apply SP4, I encounter the error

"Unable to write ScriptMaps metabase entry"
"Failed to execute regsvr32.exe. Error Code 5."

What I finally did is

1. Uninstall IIS
2. Install SP4
3. Reinstall IIS

No problem so far. I then compare 3 files in the server with another server
which has successfully patched with SP4 with IIS running. The 3 files are
inetmgr.exe, inetmgr.dll and inetinfo.exe. The files ob both servers are the
same in terms of File version and other information.

My question is, the workaround that I have used, is it ok? Will there be any
negative effects?

I was able to omplete the SP4 install by stopping all non-critical services
before starting the update. I don't know which service was hanging things
up. Probably IIS.
