Hi

I have created a few MSI file with third party software, I have created them
with the freeware MSI creator packed in the windows 2000 Server CD (Win
Install LE).

I have tested the MSI that I created and it seem to be applied to the
machine without any issues, so I know that the roll out is working fine as
the program appears on the desktop and all the program files seem to be
there.

If I log onto the machine as an administrator, I double click on the
application the program will load fine and all is well, but if I log in as a
domain user then the application just keeps trying to install it self over
and over again.

What I would like to know, if possible can the MSI be given special
privileges temporarily to allow a domain user once logged in, to install and
use the application with no problem.

I have tried to set the privileges to the MSI file within the group policy
of the roll out (Software Installation) which is applied to the OU, but this
still does not seem to work

This is the key. This is the MSI "repairing" itself since it detects
that one or more of the keypaths is not installed or missing.

Once you logon as a user and run the programme, check the event viewer
which will tell you which component it is reinstalling. From there you
can work backwards in WinInstall to see why and then fix it.

Need more info to narrow it down. (1) Did you set ALLUSERS=1 when you
installed it? (2) Does the domain account have admin privileges.

Yes when the application was installed it was installed to All Users, and as
for the domain account when I log on as a administrator all works fine but
as soon as I log in as a normal domain user with standard right the
application just keeps trying to install itself over and over again
