I have an Altholon 2500+ processor and an ABIT NF7-S v2.0 Motherboard
running the newest BIOS 27d. I am running Windows XP Professional.

It was my understanding that AMD processors support DEP. If I check System
Properties it says that my processor does not support DEP.

My processor was purchased new in Feb 2004. Why no DEP support?

Only Athlon64 processors support DEP. Since your Athlon is not a 64 bit
processor, it does not support DEP.
