For some certain unavoidable circumstances I have to demote and
re-promote AD using a different name. As such I stand to lose all AD
information (which I don`t have many).
I would just like to ask that if I delete my current AD will any files
or profiles in the Server be deleted along with it too ?
Also as in my client machines, the user logon profile will change too,
can I copy the profile from the old to the new one? My MS Outlook
information is very important.

You need a new domain name? Domain rename is possible with Win2003
if you can upgrade first.

No user files will be deleted, but the users will all get new
domain accounts and thus their old profiles will be (in some sense)
disconnected from those new accounts.

You can copy these if you wish to go through the trouble; they
will NOT be autodeleted but won't work automatically either.

Outlook (and OE) are a problem case since not all of the info is kept
together.

You might wish to use USMT (User State Migration Tool) to capture
EVERYTHING for each user etc.

If you have a new domain controller and a newly installed domain
side-by-side to your current domain, you can use ADMT. It will migrate users
and computers at the same time allow the new users to login to the new
domain using their old profiles.
