I have recently run into a problem with Dell OptiPlex GX series PC's running
Windows 2000 Pro. Upon the installation of Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 it
prompts
you for a restart and it never returns. Get an error during startup that
the system32\
NTOSKRNL.exe is missing or corrupt. Have tried using the recovery console
commands to restore the PC per all the usual methods with no success. I
suspect
that it is a conflict with the video hardware/software and the settings that
Adobe would like to use but a search of Dell's and Adobe's sites shed no
light on this.
Any insight would be appreciated.

Yes indeed I have, in fact I have used all the best tricks and tips I could
get from this forum to try and work around this issue. It appears to be a
conflict with the
display settings used by Adobe and the base settings for the Dell Optiplex
GX PC's.
I actually have one of my customers acting as a guinea pig. He will
re-install windows 2000 and load our program without the Adobe Reader add-on
to see if the error persists.
