Can anyone tell me a compatible HD replacement for a L400. My current
HD failed and I plan on replacing the HD. I have pulled out the HD so
I am wondering if I brought it to most stores if they could take a look
at my current HD and have a compatible HD for replacement.

Have you confirmed that this drive is bad, yet? I ask, RE your other
post about the L400.

Anyway, it's a standard IDE laptop hard drive. Nothing special, a 40GB
or 80GB is probably good. You can pick one up at almost any computer
shop. But do NOT buy a SATA drive.

Anyway, here's the service manual.
