I need a new power cord for a Dell J740 Inkjet. It is not a standard
cord - the printer end is different than normal. Perhaps this is a
common type of cord in the printer world, but I am not sure. If anyone
is familiar with that particular printer, please let me know.

I might be better off just getting a refurbished Dell printer for $30
rather than spend $15+ on the cord. Any thoughts?

Do you need the power cord or the power supply? Near as i'm aware it
takes a power supply in the shape of a brick which attaches to the
printer transparently with the outside exposed with a sort of figure 8
power two prong connector. If i'm correct, should be identical to
Canon's QH2-2725-000 which costs $1.36 + $5.00 shipping from what i'm
told from 800-OK-CANON but one should be able to find a match at their
local electronics shop. These are common on laptops as well...
electric shavers though tend to be more oval than figure-8 shaped and
won't fit unless you cut them with the V style grooves.
