I am using a Dell laptop Inspiron 600m Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2
(build 2600) and Dell Replicator unit and C type docking station combination
unit and all patches and service packs available up to and including today.

But every time I attemt to get the docking station to acheive release mode
either by selecting the release button on the harware or selecting
start->udock computer I get the same error message "You cannot eject your
computer because one of the devices in the docking station, "Communications
Port (COM1), cannot be stopped right now. Try closing all appliocations and
ejecting the computer agaain later."

All hardware devices have been removed from the replicator and still the
error message persists. Anything you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem.
Microsoft sent me a Hotfix from article ID 818332 which suppose to solve
this problem. but when I run it, I get an error message that it cannot be
installed on Service Pack 2.
Is someone can help me?

Hadar.

That KB article also says the problem was corrected in Service Pack Two, so
that's why it won't install.

But my Windows has SP2.
my problem is that I cannot onstall the Hotfix because I have SP2, but SP2
was suppose to fix this problem.
I tried to uninstall SP2 but I cannot becuase when I installed Windows, SP2
was a part of it.
Do you have any idea how to solve this problem?

Thanks,
Hadar.
