Can anyone help me with a problem I have with my laptop, please?

This evening my screen started flickering, then went "almost" black. That
is, I could faintly see the icons on my desktop on a very, very dark screen.

I linked the laptop to a projector, and the laptop desktop displayed
normally through the projecter as it projected onto a screen.

So I reinstalled the video driver (NVidia GeForce 2 Go)
and the display was fne for about 5 minutes, then the whole think started
over.

I can get the screen to display for about one minute by pressing the "Fn"
key together with the CRT/LCD key. The display pops up, then after about
30-60 seconds it flickers and the screen goes black again.

Does anyone have any ideas, please?

Thank you in advance.

Tom R.

Probably a problem with the screen backlighting, connection
to invertor or from it to the CCFL(s) or one of these two is
itself failing, probably not the CCFL as it would tend to
just get dimmer. You might contact Della and see what
they're charging for these parts, and if you feel like
disassembling the laptop you might look for loose wiring as
well and clean out the fan and any vent holes while it's
open.
