Crosses over to ???

If what you were trying to ask is what other equivalent models use the
same engine then:

The Dell 3100cn and the Dell 3000cn are both based on the Fuij-Xerox
Docuprint C525A. The same engine is also rebadged as the Epson C1100
series.

AFAIK - The Fuji-Xerox models are only available in the Asian and
Australian markets and the Epson models are only sold in Asia and
Europe.

Plus if it's made for Dell, you can bet there is some "tweak" done to
internal parts so that the replacements/toner cartridges etc have to be
the Dell ones and not the model it's based off of. Very common to have
a dell inkjet be a "duplicate" of a lexmark, but none of the parts
(Including ink cartridges) for the lexmark will fit, and you have to
pay about 50% more for the Dell badged parts
