Dell 1600n scanning problem

Hello,
My client's Dell 1600n all of a sudden developed some strange
behavior. Scanning a single sheet letter size document sends a
compressed image to the desktop and TRIPLES the image (so you see
three, skinny images on a page.)

I tried to "re-boot" the unit by unplugging it to no avail.

Do you think this is a setting problem on the unit or at the desktop?
(I know you are going to ask what program is being used to view the
document but I don't know. (I can find out). But I hoped someone had
a way to re-set things to factory specs.

Thanks,
David
