I have two temp files in C:\Documents and
Settings\lavert\localsettings\temp. They are df7384.temp and df929a.temp.
Tried to delete. Msg came back that said files cannot be deleted because
they are in use by another program. Can anyone tell me how I can identify
the program? Thanks in advance.

Go to www.sysinternals.com and get a copy of Process Explorer.

Jerry:

Thanks for your reply. The Process Explorer program did the trick. Thanks
again.

Jerry answered your question. However if you want to delete files like these
use MoveOnBoot http://www.snapfiles.com/get/moveonboot.html . It is freeware
and provides a right click context option that you can use to mark the
file(s) for deletion the next time the system is restarted
