Can i delete JUST the windows mail program? Its a pain in the butt and my
other mail programs work fine without having to find and install the pop3
,,smpt, port assignment, during the blue moon phase of jupiter, while
sagittarius is in alignment with pluto...blahh blah blahhhh.
i want to get rid of this overbearing program and just use what has always
worked , but i dont want to screw anything up.. can i just turn this
worthless service off?
God i miss XP!!!!

No, you can't uninstall Windows Mail.
How does it get in the way? If you want more help, let us know
what your preferred email method/program is. I don't know what those
mysterious "other mail programs" are.

You can just not use it. It doesn't run by itself.

Gary

Why would this message only just show up on my Windows Live Mail newsreader?

I had a "watch" flag set on this thread.

There are two settings that may cause missing news posts.
Go to Tools, Options, Read, uncheck "Get 300 headers at a time".
On the General tab, uncheck "Use newsgroup message rating
features".
