I use Word 2007. Previously, I uninstalled Norton and installed AVG (through
add/remove programs). I would like to un-enable/delete the virus scan that
comes up every time I open a Word file but cannot find how to do it. Please
realize that I am a technically challenged so any answers in detail please

The virus scan message comes not from Word but from theb linked anti-virus
software.

Unregister the calling DLL by running the following command line from
Windows > Start > Run

regsvr32 /u "C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG Free\avgoff2k.dll"

many thanks - in my AVG, file was in AVG7 not AVG Free - thanks
