In an effort to keep "clutter" to a minimum, I try to
delete all unnecessary items. I notice many "text
documents" listed and I have no idea what most of them
are. Is it safe to delete them?

Thanks

It is never safe to delete any files which you are not familiar with.
They may be .log files which the registry requires to uninstall
programs. Visit http://filext.com/index.php for some guidance.

System Mechanic (www.iolo.com) is an excellent utility designed
to safely remove junk files.
