Deleting Task Request

We do not use an exchange server and I was experimenting with sending Task
Requests. The request has been received in the other person's Inbox, but if
you click on it or try to delete it, you are given the error, "Cannot Open
this item. Outlook cannot do this action on this type of attachment."

How can I delete this request from the Inbox?
