OK - Frustration with Professional XP 2007. When i open old docs it applies
multiple masters which i did not choose nor do i want. It has moved slide
numbers on random slides and i cannot delete the master so that i can only
have 1. My slides are all so different that i custom build them except for
basic things like slide number and side bar. How can i delete the slide
masters that have been arbitrairily assigned to pages where the was only one
before? Right now i am having to hand edit @ 300 slides with each of 20
documents becuase the changes i make on the master it says is applied to
those particular slides is not being applied to the slides. Please help!!
We are making end of year updates and changes and it is taking 4x as long as
it should!!

Thanks,
Barbara

You cannot delete a layout or master if you have a slide based on them. Go
to the Home tab, use the Layout button, and apply an appropriate
master/layout. Then you can delete the extraneous ones.

The problem is that i did not apply the slide master to the pages - the new
PowerPoint did and it is making my presentations crazy. I want 1 (one)
master slide. We move slides from book to book and i need the formatting to
be consistent or i spend my life rebuilding the same slides over and over.
Can you change the master that the slide is attached to? I would like to be
able to build one master and apply it to all the slides. We average @
250-300 slides per document! Anything you could help me with would be
welcome.

Thanks,
Barbara

This happens because you're opening old docs in new PPT 2007. It's creating
a master for each master you have in 2003, and in PPT 2007, each master also
has, what, 9 or so layouts?

Often we use multiple masters in 2003 to substitute for the layouts we need.
Since we have these in 2007 now, you can go through and apply the
appropriate layout -- from one master -- then delete the rest.
