New user to outlook 2007 & I was testing 'importing' a saved .pst file. now
my address book is reading from both personal folders; the imported one &
current one. Can I delete Personal Folders I had saved & imported without
effecting anything on the current Personal Folder I am using?

Importing is never the correct way to transfer Outlook data. Your question
cannot be answered with the inadequate information you posted. It would be
easy for you to answer however. If the Contacts appear in your default
Contacts Folder, you can close any other folder. Had you transferred data
correctly, there would not be 2 folders.

Best to just create a new mail profile and configure it to use your current .pst file.
