Deleting Network User Account Directories

Hi,

Apologies if this is a typical newbie question. Our
systems at varsity are currently set in such a way that
the "roaming" (SAMBA) directories for users on the domain
are created (and populated) on any of the PCs they use.
Obviously, over time, users come and go, but, apparently,
their directories don't. Try as I might, I can't delete
the directories associated with these ex-users from the
drive on the PC I use. I keep getting the "Access is
denied. The source file may be in use." message. Among
the contents of these directories are the "My Documents"
and "Application Settings" folders, which are often quite
large, and represent otherwise unreclaimable space on my
harddisk.

Ok, the specifics. I'm running a Windows 2000 (SP4)
installation, placed on a Linux-hosted domain (which
controls the SAMBA shares and accounts). I do have (and
use) administrator rights on my PC.

I hope this is enough info.

Basil
