deleting "My ebook" folder in windows explorer

I keep trying to delete default Windows 2000 folders in
Windows Explorer - things like "my pictures" and "my
ebook" which I find quite irritating. They appear to
delete but when I next switch on my computer they're back.
Is it possible to get rid of them permentently?
