I created various sys restore points during some drastic changes &
experimentations... a few of these are not points I wish to confuse with
others.

Perhaps I mearly overlooked an obvious function, but I haven't noticed an
option which allows me to delete these unwanted points.

Please teach.

You can't. "restore points are chained (or linked) together with
previous restore points. When a restore point is chosen, all restore
point created prior to that restore point are also required to complete
the restoration."

The only thing you can do is to restore to a point before the unwanted
ones. Don't worry about them, they will disappear in time as new
restore points are created. You may have too much space allocated for
System Restore. The default of 12% of the hard drive is much too large
now that huge hard drives are common. The recommended size is about 1
GB. The definitive site for help with SR issues is by MVP Bert Kinney:

See http://bertk.mvps.org/html/healthy.html#AdjustDiskSpace and in
particular, this note:

Note: Reducing the data store size will purge the oldest restore points
on a FIFO (first in first out) base and leave as many recent restore
points as the new size will allow. Restore points over 90 days are
purged automatically by default.

Garbage in, garbage out...

In the future, be sure to name your restore points so that you WON'T
confuse them with others.

There are three methods of deleting restore points.

1. Disable System Restore, all restore points will be deleted.
How to Disable and Enable System Restore:
http://bertk.mvps.org/html/disablesr.html
2. Use the option in Disk Cleanup to remove all but the most recent restore
point.
How to using Disk Clean-up to remove restore points:
http://bertk.mvps.org/html/diskclean.html
3. Reduce the amount of disk space used to hold restore point. Move the
slider one notch at a time to the left and click OK. This will remove the
oldest restores stored in the amount of disk space decreased. There's no way
of telling how may will be deleted thou.
How to Adjust the amount of disk space System Restore uses to hold
restore points:
