Some intruder was able to download some software to my computer int the
Windows directory. I discovered it and deleted their files. However, they
were able to place a short cut menu item in my "right-click" pop-up menu. It
isn't really harmful right now, but I would like to remove this item. Does
anyone know how to do this?

Start-Run-Regedit.
Navigate to this key and see if your offending item is there in the
list of sub-keys. If so, then remove it.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MenuExt

Thank you very much, it worked. I guess from not navigating this area of
windows too much, it didn't occur to me to check it.
I will put your name in my rolodex in case I have any other problems.
Again, thank you.
