XP Pro, SP3

I recently played a file using the VideoLAN (VLC) media player. It has
now put itself in the right-click context menu (Add to.... and Play
with....) and appears whatever folder I select.

Have gone into VLC player Preferences and unticked (unchecked) all the
options under Interface but the bloody thing will not go away.

Have also tried hovering over the two instances and hitting Delete,
still no luck.

Is there a setting in the interface I have missed?

Uninstall the VLC,shut the computer down,Wait 1minute,Start the
windows,Reinstall the vlc,Care fully choose the interface options.

This help from MVP Ramesh should also help

I had version 0.9.6, so it did me a favour to install the new version
0.9.8a. I carefully unticked the context menus and other unwanted
options this time.

Thanks very much for the advice AND the great link.
