I cannot delete extra line spaces in the endnotes of a ms. I am working on.
When I reveal formatting, they appear as paragraph marks. I do not believe
the
document is locked, but for some reason I cannot delete these extra spaces.

Rather than deleting, have you tried pressing backspace (with the
cursor at the beginning of the following paragraph) to get rid of
them?

This took care of some of them, but there are some that I still cannot get
rid of. Since the endnotes are linked to the endnote markers in the text,
there is a limit to the manipulations I can try.
