Deleting Excel Files

When deleting an excel file that resides on a W2k AD
server share, it sends the local PC's processor to 100%.
Not everytime but consitantly, and then take 30 seconds to
delete.
The PC is a new IBM Netvista P4 with XP Pro and Excel 2002
with all the latest critical fixes and service packs. The
file share is on a gigabyte network
