Is there a feature that would make the receiver of an email HAVE to read the
email before deleting it?

There's no feature for that. You'd have to control the receiver's end of
things which you can't

Yeah, stand behind him or her with a gun. Other than that, no. If there
were such a feature, don't you think the spammers would be using it?

If there was, you'd be reading 5,000 spam messages a day, wouldn't you.
