How do I delete an e-mail COMPLETELY - as opposed to simply applying a line
through my e-mail - with one click on "DELETE?" I used to enjoy this option -
no having to "purge deleted messages" - they simply were deleted as i clicked
on, or pressed the key, "DELETE."

Thank you!

Because you were using POP3 for a mail server but now you are using
IMAP4. They are different mail protocols. IMAP4 requires getting a
Purge command to actually get rid of the message up on the mail host
and why just a red line is drawn through the pending delete item in
the e-mail client.

That's the way IMAP folders work.
