Outlook 2007 SP1 - I deleted a task by accident and cannot find it in deleted
items. Also tried the recover deleted items tool in outlook. Should a deleted
TASK end up in the deleted items folder?

Thanks,

Yes. Any item you delete in Outlook, unless you hold down Shift when you
delete it, will get moved to the Deleted Items folder of the data store
contaiing the Tasks folder. Non-mail items can be difficult to locate there
because the usual view of Deleted Items is Messages sorted by Received date.
Tasks usually have a Received date that matched the Created date so will be
sorted in with messages received on that date and might be easily overlooked.
To find it more easily, sort the Deleted Items folder by the Icon column, if
you haven't already emptied the folder.

If the Deleted Items folder has been emptied, you use Exchange, and the
Exchange admin has enabled the Deleted Items recovery feature, you should be
able to restore it that way by opening the Deleted Items folder and then using
Tools>Recover Deleted Items. I believe that will put it back in Deleted Items
and allow you to move it back to Tasks.
