Deleted some files, and now my taskbar is acting up.

A couple weeks ago I did a spy/ad-ware scan and deleted some files from my computer. I may have deleted something I wasn't supposed to; regardless, this is what has been happening since then:

Every time I restart my computer, the 'Search Assistant' and 'Quicklaunch' toolbar items come up in my taskbar. I never use them, and they take up space in the taskbar that I like to have for browser windows when using my computer. I can easily turn them off by right clicking the toolbar, going toolbars, and unchecking the search assistant and then again for the quicklaunch. But, every time I turn on my computer I have to do this again, if I want that space. It isn't a big problem, but I'd like to know how to permanently turn them off, especially since they were permanently off up until that short time ago.

Don't click YES if you don't know/trust the source.

Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options | Advanced tab |
Make sure both of these are NOT checked.

Enable Install On Demand (Internet Explorer)

Thanks, I'll try these things. BTW, I often get
redirected to a ShopNan search thing when I try going to
a site that doesn't exist. Sounds very much like
BlazeFind.
