I accidentally deleted the contents of my inbox in Outlook 2003.

I went to the deleted folder and selected all. Then I attempted to move all
back to the inbox.

Instead, all of the messages got attached to a new email. I have one email
with all of the former contents of my inbox attached.

How can I restore my inbox to its previous state?

Thank you very much for any help.

Move them onto the folder instead of in the list of mail items.

Robert,

I can't figure out how to move them.

I no longer have a list of mail items. I have one mail item. All of my
previous mail items are attached to that one new item.

Any other ideas?

You can open that mail item and use drag & drop to move them to a folder. If
not; save all your items to a folder on your Desktop and drag & drop them
from that folder onto a folder in Outlook.
