I can see several posts in here relating to this, but none of them seem to
provide an answer for me.

We are running Outlook 2007 connected to an Exchange 2003 server.

I can recover deleted messages through the 'Recover Deleted Items' process
but ifI delete a folder I am unable to see that contained anywhere.

I have tried the dumpsteralwayson but this doesn't need to be set for OL2007.

Any other ideas much appreciated, erally don't want to restore the database
if I can help it.

TIA
Mark

You won't see any folder; only the individual items that were in that
folder.
Are you saying you don't see those?

Yes, and where are those deleted items as I can't select the folder they were
deleted in.

Just to clarify, if I shift+delete messages in a folder named fred, then to
recover them I navigate to the Fred folder and select recover deleted items I
can then select those messages. But if I delete 'FRED' then I can't navigate
to the Fred Folder as it's been deleted.

Actually, a little further info. If you permanently delete a folder in your
own mailbox you can recover it from your deleted items or the orginal
localtion. If you delete a folder from an attached mailbox it gets a little
more confusing.

Basically it appears as though the following happens
You delete a folder from an attached mailbox, it places it in your own
Deleted Items.
If you then permanently delete the folder from deleted items, you need to
log in as the attached mailbox, navigate to the original parent folder and
then you can recover the deleted folder from there.

Still, think it's resolved.

I think a nice to have would be a method of recovering deleted items from
anywhere in your mailbox as opposed to only from the parent folder, it's a
little difficult when people can't remember that parent folder.

As an aside, have installed Office 2007 SP2 today, wow it's fast. Well done
to MS for that.
